The project of West Action Plan undertaken by Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, namely, “Study on effective components of pomegranate peels for the treatment of gynaecological diseases and the establishment of the technological production system” has been inspected by the project group of Chinese Academy of Sciences on April 13, 2011.

　  Dr. Haji Akber Aisa gave a detailed presentation about the project. And all the experts agreed that the polypenols in pomegranate peels which is one of the famous Uigur medicine have been systematically studied utilizing modern technologies of extraction and separation as well as the purification of macroporous adsorptive resins. Furthermore, one sanitary product with evaluated pharmacology and toxicology has been develped for the threatment of gynaecological diseases. The standard preparation procedures have also been developed. The project fulfils the expectations.

　  The project could not only enhance the utilization of pomegranate peels but also promote our medical and healthy career. The development of medicine from pomegranate peels will contribute to our innovative drugs with intellectual properties. The byproducts as well as their added values could be utilized, leading to benificial cycles of ecological environments. The construction and stability of Xinjiang including aspects of not only ecological but also economic will benefit a lot from the project and a win-win situation will occur.
