The Research Center for Crystal Materials at Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physical and Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, targets the global science frontiers and strives to fulfill the significant needs of national and Xinjiang autonomous region. The mission of the center is to develop new-generation photoelectronic functional crystal materials. Through basic and applied basic researches, the center aims to build an internationally influential research platform with high-level outputs and outcomes and to fund a talent cultivation base.
The center has gathered a group of high-grade talent, including one distinguished young scholar of the National Natural Science Foundation, three excellent young scholars of the National Natural Science Foundation, one leading scholar of the state, six high-level scholars of the Chinese Academy of Science, three high-level oversee scholars, one young chief scientist of National "973" Project, one chief scientist of National Key Research and Development Project, and 80+ master/doctoral graduate students.
Supported by the CAS Key Laboratory of Functional Materials and Devices for Special Environments and Xinjiang Key Laboratory of Electronic Information Materials and Devices, the center focuses on materials simulation and design, synthesis, crystal growth, and device fabrication and application for new photoelectronic functional crystal materials. The center has published 550+ original/review papers in renowned journals such as Natl. Sci. Rev., Light: Sci. Appl., Nat. Commun., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Rev., Acc. Mater. Res., and Coord. Chem. Rev. The center has authorized 16+ international patents for invention from the United States, the united kingdom, Japan, and Europe and 100+ Chinese patents for invention. The center has been granted by the Key National R & D Projects, National 973, Key Projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Key Deployment Projects of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Major Science and Technology Projects of Xinjiang. The center has received three times the first class awards of Xinjiang Natural Science and three times the first class awards of Xinjiang Scientific and Technological Progress.
