The Multilingual Information Technology Lab (MITL) mainly concentrates on researches on multilingual information processing, big data analysis and application, software testing, etc. MITL has established research and experimental platforms with the authorization of PhD and Master degrees in computer science.

In recent years, a series of important research results have been achieved in related fields. Among them, many achievements and products, such as Uygur-Kazakh-Kyrgyz office suite, multilingual software evaluation platform, and Mandarin teaching software, are pioneering and national initiative, and have been widely applied in different fields. In recent 5 years, more than 120 academic papers have been published, and more than 100 software copyrights have been granted. MITL has undertaken around 180 research projects (since 1999) including the National 863 Programs and key projects of CAS and Xinjiang. Relative research results have won the second-prize of the National Science and Technology Award, the Outstanding Science and Technology Achievement Award of CAS, the Science and Technology Development Promotion Award of CAS as well as 2 special-prizes, 6 first-prizes, 1 second-prize and 1 third-prize of the Xinjiang Science and Technology Progress Award.

MITL consists of 107 members, including 23 research staffs, 45 project employees, and 39 graduate students. Among them, there are 8 professors, 9 associate professors, 7 doctoral supervisors, and 12 master supervisors. We have 4 researchers who take subsidies from the State Council.
