The Laboratory of Materials Physics and Chemistry was established in 1960s’ with a persistent history over 60 years. The laboratory mainly focus on the R&D of Temperature-sensitive functional materials and devices, including (1) ab initio design, synthesis routes and conducting mechanism investigations of the temperature-sensitive metal-oxide materials, principally negative temperature coefficient (NTC) ceramics; (2) Fabrication of temperature sensors, in the form of thin/thickness films, chips, as well as micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS). Our material bank covers the temperature-snesitive range from 20K to 1200K, and our ultra-fast response temperature reaches the response time of 6.5 ms, which has achieved the first-class in the world.
At the moment, there are 17 full-time faculties from multiple academic background in the group, including 5 full professors, 7 associate professors, 2 assistant research fellows and 3 engineers. Our “4 in 1” R&D platform integrates materials preparation, characterization, device fabrication, in-situ environmental stress test sub-platforms. Some of the facilities and equipment: cold isostatic press, rapid thermal processing (RTP) furnace, microwave sintering furnace, Laser Molecular Beam Epitaxy (LMBE), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), X-ray Diffractometer, Die sorter, liquid thermostatic bath, High temperature complex impedance meter, etc. In addition, we have two achievement transformation centers located in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, and Foshan, Guangdong Province.
In the last recent years and near further, we have been deploying for next generation temperature measurement, such as cryogenic sensors, flexible electronics, tactile sensor, self-powered devices integrated with power conversion unit and sensors, intelligence temperature sensor chips, and so on.
We Always Encourage Outstanding Domestic and Abroad Scholars,
Especially Young PhD Graduates and Post-docs to Join Us !
