  • The Project of "Bilingual Teaching Aid Software Development Based on Voice Technologies” Passed the Acceptance

       Aug 27,2010, Bureau of High-Tech Research and Development CAS held a meeting for the acceptance of "Bilingual Teaching Aid Software Development Based on Voice Technologies”(an important direction of knowledge innovation project) undertaken by XJIPC and Institute of Acoustics, CAS.

       This program set up a 5,000 hours han phonetics corpus of Xinjiang minority, developed auxiliary software of single-player and online Han-Uyghur "bilingual teaching", drawn up standards for the resources, designed the adapter of bilingual teaching resources, and made more than 13,600 resources, covering grade 1-6. At present, "bilingual teaching" resources of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region have passed the examination committee for examination teaching material of middle and primary school. The achievement has been applied to 69 school altogether 99 bilingual classes to the classroom teaching in Kashgar, Hetian and Aksu, and well received by local teachers and students.

       In the report of the project, the experts think that the project team have accomplished the goals set out for the project and completed the project successfully after the questions and answers for the project, and agree to the acceptance.

       CAS vice President Yin Hejun, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous vice chairman Jin Nuo attended the meeting and fully affirmed the achievements of the project. Yin Hejun said that the current situation of "bilingual teaching" in Xinjiang is grim, hoped that XJIPC further strengthen the research work and application, continue to strengthen the cooperation with related departments to xinjiang "bilingual teaching" to make more contributions to the actual work.
