The project of “bridge the digital divide of the west region”, “The pivotal technology and application research of integrated resource application system based on domestic Linux system” is the National Hi-Tech Research and Development Program(863 project) which was taken by the Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physics & Chemistry(XJIPC) of Chinese Academy of Sciences. XJIPC has successfully developed “Nor-West Star information distribution system” based on the domestic Linux, NC, and domestic office. The product has advantages such as cross-platform, supporting a variety of databases, under the control of a specific security, supporting the build of e-government public information platform, and it has its own intellectual property rights. The system can help government integrate all kinds of information and supports distributed application, greatly enhances the application of domestic software and hardware in the Xinjiang Autonomous Regional e-government, and breaks the monopoly of the foreign software. The project has been verified by the 863 expert group on November of 2004, the comment is A plus. The result of Autonomy science and technology production appraisal is “At the top level of domestic production”. It has been granted the first-prize of National Autonomy Science and Technology Progress. The relevant production has been deployed on Autonomy, The People’s government of Urumqi, Hami, Turpan, Changji, Ili, Shihezi. It has provided a strong technical support platform for the construction and application of Xinjiang e-government website, and greatly enhanced the capability of construction and application of Xinjiang e-government.
