“Optoelectronics functional materials International seminar of Chinese Academy of Sciences” was hold in Urumqi on July 4th, 2009.

　　This international conference is an important academic exchanging meeting of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009. It is sponsored by Xinjiang Key Laboratory of Electronic Information Materials and Devices, co-sponsored by Ministry of personnel and education of CAS, the Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physics & Chemistry, Xinjiang Science and Technology office, Xinjiang Science and technology association. By discussing the latest developments, the main studying fields, and the key technical problems of optoelectronics functional materials subject, we can have better academic exchanges and co-operations with counterparts home and abroad and know the latest academic news.

　　Jin Nuo, Vice chairman of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, attended the opening ceremony. Representing the government, she warmly welcomed the experts and scholars at the conference.

　　She mainly addressed that with boosted economy, stable society, united people, and firm border defense, Xinjiang is in it’s best development period.

　　It is a basic and long-term policy to speed up the conversion of resources. With the abundant resources in Xinjiang, it is promising to make the comprehensive using of energy and mineral and to develop new type materials. The successful holding of the “Optoelectronics functional materials International seminar of Chinese Academy of Sciences” in Urumqi will necessarily promote the development of the optoelectronics functional materials.

　　The opening ceremony was presided over by Li Xiao, vice director and secretary of the Party Committee of XJIPC. The director of XJIPC Ren Diyuan representing the sponsoring units, the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences Chen Yi representing the experts and scholars at the conference, the vice officer of Xinjiang Science and Technology office Hu Kelin representing the Science and Technology office, and the chief of Ministry of personnel and education of CAS Tang Yuhua representing the Chinese Academy of Sciences respectively gave addresses on the meeting.

　　There are more than 80 persons attending the opening ceremony, including the staff of Science and technology association, Xinjiang Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Urumqi government.
