"The 8th national MBE conference" was held in Urumqi on September 24th, 2009. The meeting lasted three days. The opening ceremony was presided over by Wang Xiaojun, a researcher of XJIPC. Representing the sponsoring units, the director of XJIPC Ren Diyuan gave the welcomed address.

　　Though the riot happened on July 5th, the conference was warmly responded by national universities, institutes and laboratories. There were more than 50 papers from about 80 experts, scholars and researchers in 25 units of the MBEfield.

　　The “national MBE conference” is held every two-year. The purpose of the meeting is to show the latest development, the new situation and the main achievements, and to discuss the existent problem and the future trend of the MBE and the related researches. It also aims to widen the application of the MBE, offer the discussion opportunity for the researchers in the field, and provide the information for the related industries. Generally, it is helpful toaccelerate the development of the technology of MBE and the related fields.

　　The conference is sponsored by semiconductor branches of China institute of non-ferrous metal and electro-materials academy of China electronics institute, undertaken by institute of semiconductors and XJIPC, co-sponsored by Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physics and Xinjiang Key Laboratory of Electronic Information Materials and Devices. 44 experts and scholars made reports on the conference.

　　On the meeting, it is decided that the 9th national MBE conference will be undertaken by institute of physics, CAS.

　　Through the conference, XJIPC enhanced a lot in MBE and the related fields. It will accelerate the development of MBE technology in Xinjiang, and make contribution to the economy and society of Xinjiang.
