On September 28, 2011, Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry (XTIPC), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) celebrated its founding 50 years. After the celebrating conference, a small exchange of scientific and technological cooperation was held. More than four hundredrepresentatives from various sectors of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, scholars, researchers, and students engaged the celebration of the founding of XTIPC.

　  Prof. LI Xiao, the director of XTIPC, introduced the history and development of XTIPC, and presented its current achievements. He closed by saying that XTIPC will always insist on “Innovating in Science and Technology, Serving for Xinjiang”as its historical mission by making greater contributions to sustainable development in Xinjiang and become an influential institute in Central Asian areas.

　  And then, LIU Xinhou, the director of Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology (TIB), CAS, and YAN Rongliang, a retired professor of XTIPC, as the representatives of the conference, presented speeches.
