Researcher Zhao Pengjun Appointed to Youth Editorial Board of Journal Nano-Micro Letters

Editor: | Aug 22,2025

Recently, Researcher Zhao Pengjun from the Xinjiang Institute of Physics and Chemistry was selected as a member of the Youth Editorial Board of the international journal Nano-Micro Letters, with a tenure from July 2025 to December 2027. Being chosen as a member of the Youth Editorial Board of an international journal plays a positive role in keeping abreast of cutting-edge academic developments, bolstering the discipline construction of the institute, and enhancing the institute's academic influence in the field of materials science.

Published by Springer Nature and hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Nano-Micro Letters boasted an impact factor of 36.3 in 2024. It primarily features high-level articles related to the nano/micron scale, encompassing the synthesis, characterization, and properties of micro/nanomaterials and structures, as well as their applied research in sensing, energy, catalysis, environment, brain-inspired devices, electromagnetic wave absorption and shielding, biomedicine, and other fields. The journal ranks in the top 2% of Q1 in three JCR subject categories—nanoscience, materials science, and physics. Specifically, it ranks second (2/147) in Nanoscience & Nanotechnology, third (3/187) in Physics, Applied, and sixth (6/460) in Materials Science, Multidisciplinary. In 2025, it achieved a CiteScore of 53.1 and is recognized as a TOP journal in the Materials Science Q1 category according to the Chinese Academy of Sciences journal ranking. It has been successively selected for the Chinese Science and Technology Journals Excellence Action Plan and the International Influence Enhancement Program for Chinese Science and Technology Journals. The journal has received the Chinese Publication Government Award Journal Nomination Prize (2021), the Springer Nature Growth Impact Award (2025), and the China's Most Internationally Influential Academic Journal Award (2015-2024).

Researcher Zhao Pengjun primarily focuses on the research of thin-film functional materials and devices.  Currently, he serves as the Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Functional Materials and Devices under Special Environmental Conditions (Chinese Academy of Sciences) and the Deputy Director of the Xinjiang Key Laboratory of Electronic Information Materials and Devices.  He is also a core member of the Western Interdisciplinary Team of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Xinjiang Tianshan Talent Innovation Team. He has successively developed high-pixel-density temperature sensors, large-area organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite thin films, and a low-temperature preparation method for barium titanate nanoparticles. He has published over 90 academic papers in international journals in the field of materials, such as Advanced Materials and Advanced Functional Materials. Previously, Zhao Pengjun has been selected as a member of the Youth Editorial Board for journals including InfoMat, Materials Futures, Information & Functional Materials, and the Journal of Inorganic Materials.
