“China-Uzbekistan Natural Product Joint Laboratory” was co-founded by XTIPC and the Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2014.

The Joint Lab has carried out systematic study on the isolation and analysis, structure identification, biological activity and new drug research and development of active ingredients in the endemic medicinal resources in Central Asia, and has achieved fruitful scientific research results. Until now, more than 300 new compounds，include 3 lead compounds were obtained. 150 derivatives of lappaconitine were synthesized, and the structure-activity relationship of antiarrhythmic and analgesic effects was summarized. Two candidate drugs were successfully screened for preclinical research. More than 60 papers have been jointly published in European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Phytochemistry and other international journals, and 7 international patents have been applied. 10 Ph. D students have been jointed supervised.
