Yang Yating, vice director of Multilingual Information Technology Lab (XTIPC, CAS), professor, Ph.D. supervisor. Yang is a member of multiple associations, including Youth Innovation Promotion Association (CAS), NLP Technical Committee (CCF), Youth Working Committee (CCF). She also serves as vice director of Youth Working Committee (CCF).
2003/09-2007/06, B.S. in Computer Science and Technology, Chang’an University. Yang once served as party branch secretary and part-time instructor at school. She obtained scholarships and honors including Merit Student and Outstanding Student leaders etc.
2007/09-2012/06, Ph.D. in Computer Application Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Yang once served as president of the student union.
She obtained honors including Merit Student, Outstanding Student leaders, Outstanding Graduate, and Outstanding Communist Party Member etc. She also won the President Award of CAS. Moreover, one of her papers was shortlisted as Best Paper of Students in an academic conference.
2012/07-, postdoctoral researcher, Key Laboratory of Speech Acoustics and Content Understanding (CAS). Multilingual Information Technology Lab (XTIPC, CAS), professor, Ph.D. supervisor, the head of multilingual NLP research group. Yang also serves as vice director of Multilingual Information Technology Lab.
Research Areas and Achievements:
Yang mainly engaged in research of multilingual NLP technologies, including machine translation, language identification, topic detection, and content understanding. She is in charge of the project "Research and application of Multilingual Machine Translation System for B&R", which is one of the key projects in "One-Three-Five" Program of XTIPC. She is also a reviewer of NLPCC, CCL, CCMT, IEEE GlobalSIP etc.
Yang hosted and participated in more than 30 scientific projects, including the National Key R&D Program, the National Natural Science Foundation, the Key R&D Program of Xinjiang, and other programs of CAS. She has obtained 40 software copyrights and 9 national invention patents. She has published more than 100 high-quality academic papers in journals and conferences at home and abroad. Moreover, as a supervisor, Yang has cultivated more than 30 graduate students.
