Dr.Mahinur Bakri is an Associate Research Fellow at the Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Education:
Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (2013)
M.Med. in Pharmaceutical Analysis, Xinjiang Medical University (2007)
B.S. in Pharmacy, Xinjiang Medical University (2003)
Professional Experience:
Visiting Scholar, Georgia Health Science University,USA (April 2011 – April 2012)
Main research areas and achievements:
Dr. Mahinur’s research is dedicated to the discovery and development of innovative therapeutics from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and ethnic medicinal systems, with a special focus on the aromatic plant resources indigenous to Xinjiang and Central Asia. Her work encompasses the isolation and structural identification of low‑polarity bioactive constituents, investigation of their pharmacologically active material basis, establishment of quality control standards, and evaluation of antibacterial and antiviral activities. By integrating process optimization with bioactivity‑guided fractionation, she/he aims to discover natural essential oil‑derived lead compounds with independent intellectual property rights.
Her research contributions include active participation in multiple new‑drug R&D programs that have successfully obtained clinical trial approvals. To date, she/he has filed 10 patents and published 52 peer‑reviewed articles. She/he has also established a well‑curated repository of promising medicinal plant resources with strong prospects for product development.
Honors and awards:
First Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
